Uptime Institute and Komdigi sign data-center collaboration LOI
November 2, 2026
Read Original: Uptime InstituteUptime Institute and Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Komdigi, announced a letter of intent on November 2 to explore collaboration on the country’s data-center ecosystem. The proposed work covers policy, governance, operational reliability, security, sustainability and workforce capability.
The announcement also reports a three-day workshop involving government and industry participants. The letter expresses an intention to explore cooperation and international practices within Indonesia’s priorities and regulatory framework. It is not an announcement that new rules have taken effect or that a particular data center has received certification.
JetherVerse perspective: infrastructure planning needs people and operating procedures alongside equipment. A business choosing a hosting arrangement should understand who will keep the service working and how responsibilities change when something goes wrong.
Start with the application the organisation depends on. Identify the activities customers and staff must complete, the information needed to support them and the consequences of an interruption. Those answers provide a concrete brief for discussions with a technology supplier.
For example, imagine a booking business preparing for a busy season. Its review should include the booking journey, payment confirmation and the staff process for resolving a disputed reservation. A discussion focused only on server capacity could miss a dependency in any of those steps.
Ask each party to explain its responsibilities in plain language. Record who receives an incident report, who can authorise changes and what evidence will establish that normal service has resumed. Keep the contact information available to the people who will need it during an interruption.
Training also belongs in the delivery plan. Someone should demonstrate the support procedure and check that a colleague can follow it. A document that nobody has exercised may leave important questions unanswered until the first real incident.
JetherVerse’s consulting service at https://jetherverse.com/services/consulting can help translate these operating needs into an infrastructure review. The practical lesson is to connect plans and supplier commitments to named responsibilities and checks that a business can perform, while keeping future cooperation distinct from completed implementation.
