Trellix Unveils Private-Cloud AI Security Platform
October 15, 2026
Read Original: TrellixCybersecurity company Trellix announced Wise for Private Cloud on October 13, describing it as an on-premises AI capability for security operations teams. The product is intended for organisations that want to apply AI to threat detection and response while retaining tighter control over where sensitive information is processed.
The announcement comes as security teams face a growing volume of alerts from endpoints, cloud systems and business applications. AI assistants can help analysts summarise incidents and connect signals across different tools, but organisations must also consider the risks of exposing logs, internal systems and investigative data to external services.
An on-premises deployment model can address some data residency and governance requirements by keeping processing within infrastructure controlled by the customer. That does not automatically make a system secure. Access management, patching, audit trails and careful configuration remain essential.
Trellix describes the new capability as part of an agentic security operations approach, in which AI-supported workflows assist analysts with investigation and response. Such systems still need clear boundaries around which actions are automated and which require human approval.
For businesses considering similar tools, evaluation should begin with practical questions. What data will the model access? Can the system explain why it recommends an action? Who can approve changes? How are mistakes detected and reversed? And how will performance be measured against existing workflows?
The launch illustrates a wider trend in enterprise technology: organisations want the productivity benefits of AI without giving up control of sensitive information. Whether a private-cloud architecture delivers those benefits depends on implementation quality, operational costs and demonstrated outcomes.
