Salesforce Agrees to Buy Braze in $5.66 Billion Deal
October 21, 2026
Read Original: SalesforceSalesforce announced on October 20 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Braze for approximately $5.66 billion in enterprise value. Braze shareholders would receive $47.50 in cash for each Class A share under the agreed terms.
Braze provides customer-engagement software that responds to behaviour across mobile applications, websites, email, SMS and messaging channels. Salesforce says the proposed combination would strengthen real-time personalisation and connect customer engagement with its wider data, CRM and AI architecture.
The companies expect the transaction to close in Salesforce's fiscal 2028. Completion remains subject to conditions including Braze shareholder approval and required regulatory approvals. Salesforce also filed the joint announcement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
This is an acquisition agreement, rather than a completed integration. The announcement does not mean existing customers automatically receive a combined product, a new price or an immediately changed implementation plan.
For business owners, the useful question is how customer information moves between systems. Personalised messages depend on the events that trigger them and the records used to decide who should receive them.
JetherVerse's practical takeaway is to map one customer journey before buying additional automation. Identify the event, the intended response, the source of customer preferences and the point at which the workflow should stop.
For example, a purchase confirmation and a promotional follow-up serve different purposes. A dependable workflow should distinguish them, avoid duplicate messages and respect a customer's communication preferences.
Existing Salesforce or Braze users can prepare a short list of operational questions for their vendors. Ask about contract continuity, integration roadmaps, data portability and support arrangements when concrete updates become available.
A merger announcement alone is not a reason to rebuild a working customer journey. Improve the gaps you can demonstrate, and evaluate future platform changes against those requirements.
