Google Cloud Adds Anthropic-Managed Claude Deployment Option

Google Cloud announced general availability of an Anthropic-managed deployment option for Claude models on October 23. It sits alongside the existing Google-managed option.

The important differences concern the data processor, applicable terms and access to Claude platform capabilities.

Under the new option, Anthropic operates the stack on Google Cloud infrastructure and acts as the data processor. Google says it provides day-zero access to Claude platform features, including tools and betas.

The Google-managed route continues under existing Google Cloud customer agreements. Additional platform features arrive as they are integrated.

Those distinctions matter more than the fact that both services run on the same cloud. A common billing arrangement does not make two deployment models operationally or contractually identical.
