Black Duck brings AI security fixes to Claude Code in early access
October 28, 2026
Read Original: Black DuckBlack Duck announced Signal Agentic Fix on October 27. The tool combines analysis of proprietary code and open-source dependencies with AI-assisted prioritisation, proposed repairs and validation.
The company describes a scan, triage, fix, validate and submit workflow. Changes go to a developer or team for approval before merging. The Claude Code integration is available in early access; additional coding-agent and development-pipeline integrations are due in the coming weeks. These are vendor-described capabilities, rather than independent evidence that every generated repair is correct.
JetherVerse takeaway: a security fix should arrive with enough information for someone to review it. Ask which problem it addresses, what changed and how the team checked that the application still behaves correctly. A generated patch is an input to that decision.
For example, a dependency upgrade may remove a reported weakness while changing the behaviour of a booking form. Review the upgrade notes and exercise the affected journey. Checking that the website starts successfully would not establish that bookings still reach the receiving system.
Make responsibility visible. Each proposed repair needs an owner who can decide whether the evidence is sufficient and arrange deployment. If several people assume someone else will merge it, the work can remain unfinished despite a dashboard showing that a fix was generated.
Teams should also distinguish review from release. Once a change is approved, it still needs to reach the environment customers use. Record the deployed version and verify the relevant behaviour there. Keep a recovery option appropriate to the change.
When evaluating early-access software, begin with a bounded project and confirm its supported languages, access requirements and commercial terms. Measure the time spent checking and correcting proposals as well as the time spent producing them.
For businesses improving this maintenance process, JetherVerse's technical support service at https://jetherverse.com/services/technical-support can help frame ownership, verification and ongoing care. The useful result is a repair the team understands and can demonstrate in the working product.
